Yes you can get sued for credit card debt, although for small debts this is not likely. It's always better to try to settle your debt for less than you owe, or try to get some other debt arrangment that can work for you, instead of going to court.
Getting sued for credit card debt happens very, very rarely. I'm not saying that it can't happen, but if the amount that you owe is not large chances are you are not going to get sued. Keep in mind that defaulting on a credit card debt will negatively affect your credit score, and it will make getting credit harder and more expensive for you.
