I am curious if you deposit a check of $10,000 into your account in the bank is it going to be reported to the government? Not that I have such a check, I wish,:) I am just curious..

I don't know if they report such transactions, but the bank for sure keeps track of all financial transactions.

A friend of mine got a deposit from her parents for $15,000 and after a few days the bank called her and asked her if she wants to invest the money or put them in savings account, or basically they were checking her out. I don't know however if they report this but they certainly keep track of large transactions...

I am not sure but I think that the bank must inform to Uncle Sam.
